Job Brief

Job Summary: Constructs, erects, installs and renovates buildings and structures, structural members, and fixtures made of wood, plywood, paneling, wallboard, and metal materials.

Job Duties:

  • Studies blueprints, job specification sheets, shop drawings to determine anticipated work to be completed
  • Establish dimensional reference points to ensure proper project layout is consistent with Blueprint specifications
  • Select order lumber and other required materials
  • Maintain records, document actions and present written progress reports
  • Consults with customer or supervisor to determine necessary changes or repairs
  • Prepare cost estimates for client or employers
  • Arrange for subcontractors to deal with their scope of work
  • Inspect ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk and marking gauge.
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines or saws.
  • Assemble, fasten, and repair structures per specifications
  • Construct, fabricate and install cabinets, doors, floors, frames, stairways, trim using carpentry tools and equipment

Position Report to: General Superintendent/Project Superintendent

Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm (Hours may vary depending on job)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, may require Saturday/Sunday in certain situations

Job Locations: Varies depending on Project location, typically within a 60 air mile radius of Faribault, MN
